Can TradingView place trades at Interactive Brokers?
Sort of. You can click trades into an Interactive Brokers account from TradingView's charts. What it can't do is take one of your alerts and place the order on its own.
What an alert can do
A TradingView alert can send a message to a web address when your condition hits. That's called a webhook, and you need a paid TradingView plan for it. Interactive Brokers doesn't take those messages in directly. Something in the middle has to catch the alert and send the order.
The usual ways to bridge it
A relay service catches the alert and sends the order for a monthly fee. It's quick to set up. Your orders go through their servers, and you can only do what they support.
Some people write their own small program that catches alerts and talks to Interactive Brokers' Gateway on their own computer. It costs nothing if you can code it and keep it running.
The third way is a bot that runs your rules itself, which is what I build. Your rules get written out as a spec you sign. The bot reads prices from Interactive Brokers or your own Massive account and places the orders from your computer. There's no alert in the middle, so that's one less thing that can break.
Which one fits
If your alert already does what you want and you just need it sent, a relay is the cheaper answer. A custom bot fits better if your rules have parts TradingView can't check, or you want it all running on your own computer under your own login.
If your rules are in a script you wrote
Send it as it is. I write it out in plain words as a spec, you check every line, and the bot follows the spec.
